Dr. Charles Batte

Over the past 12 years, Dr. Batte has founded, developed, steered growth and implemented Global award-winning social entrepreneurship programs focused on youth empowerment and community sustenance. After graduating from high school in 2007, he used savings from a part time job in a car garage, to set up his own social enterprises addressing the most pressing social concerns in my community. These include Empower Community Farm addressing unemployment, Book Camp improving education in rural villages, Family Health Center promoting health education in rural communities and Tree Adoption Uganda addressing climate change and empowering youth to be entrepreneurs. For his work, he won the 2012 World Merit Global Ambassador for Social Entrepreneurship, traveled to 17 countries on 5 continents to volunteer, inspire and work with youth Entrepreneurs, He was named Global Laureate Fellow for 2013 by the International Youth Foundation, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales Sustainable Living Award in 2014 and the Commonwealth Bright Ideas award in 2015.
